not knowing
what was truly on the other side

death's facade was beautiful
dreamy little cherubs
flowers and angels hair
were the lie

Death really had
sharp eyes of envious green
waiting impatiently to take me
her red lacquered finger always motioning
to me
suicide
seducing me to lie close in her bosom
of death
she would wrap me in her body
raping my very soul

I couldn't see the real death
the one cold
her rotten breath
exhaling rancid life forces
sucking out my soul
evil laughters of those caught in the guise
of comfortable peace
the lie

But, God had a better plan for me
he saved me from myself
