French Conjugation help.?
I need to know how to differentiate between passe compose and imparfait but I can't tell the difference. For example, When I say: Ma famille conduisaient a Boston. Is that supposed to be in Imparfait because we drove for an extended period or is it passe compose? What about other commonly used verbs?

You usually use the imparfait when something else happens after :
** Je conduisais ma voiture quand mon telephone a sonné. I was driving my car when my phone rang.
For your sentence, if that's all you want to say, you should say it with the passe compose because it's over and that's all you want to say.
Ma famille a conduit jusqu'a Boston.
You should use the imparfait when it's "was/were +-verb- ing" in english.
Does it make sens?
