When were fish knives and forks invented... and why?
Whilst having fish and chips at home we started to wonder about the cutlery (as you do) and we tried to work out why fish knives and forks are shaped like they are. The way their shaped doesn't seen to have much practical application. Odd question i know - thanks

I actually know and have used them!
The fish fork has smaller pointier tines on the outside to facilitate little bones encountered more easily.
The fish knife has a bend to help skin or fillet a piece of fish more readily.
So there - now you know!
